Principal's Message

Hello Amazing Showalter Families!
As your new, proud principal, it is my absolute honor to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! As a proud member of the Tukwila School District since 2006, I’m deeply honored to lead Showalter; a school that reflects the strength, heart, and brilliant diversity of our community.
Welcome aboard students and families! With you on deck, our school sails into a bright new year!
This year, we continue to grow through our school-wide values:
At Showalter, we SAIL:
⭐ Solve problems
⭐ Achieve success
⭐ Inspire others
⭐ Live healthy
At Showalter we BELIEVE: Diversity is our greatest asset.
At Showalter diversity enriches our classrooms, deepens our perspectives, and makes our community stronger and more vibrant. Every culture, background, and story represented here adds to our community of learning and growth. We believe in every single one of our scholars! Each scholar brings unique strengths, talents, and voices that deserve to be heard and celebrated! Together, as a community we honor diversity and champion inclusion.
Every scholar is welcomed and valued.
At Showalter, we lead with the belief that relationships come first. Building strong, authentic connections with our scholars, families, and staff is at the heart of all we do. When scholars feel safe, supported, and known, they are empowered to learn and grow. This year, we remain focused on building a safe, welcoming environment where every child can thrive.
Every scholar progresses and succeeds.
At Showalter we believe in high-quality instruction for every learner. We are committed to providing meaningful, engaging, learning experiences that challenge and inspire all scholars to reach their fullest potential. We believe that ALL scholars can grow, learn, and achieve at high levels! We are here to support them every step of the way. By embracing equity and providing individualized support, we work to remove barriers and open pathways to success for every scholar.
Everyone is part of our community.
At Showalter, we believe in the power of community and that success happens when we work together! Our staff, families, and scholars united in our purpose: our scholars. Family partnerships and connections are essential to scholar success. This year, we are excited to offer many opportunities for families to engage, connect, and collaborate with us. To our families, know this: our doors are always open. You are welcome here. Your voice matters. You belong here.
From monthly Family Connection Events featuring hands-on activities, to workshops and open forums designed to foster dialogue and learning, we invite you to be active participants in your scholar’s education. Whether through volunteering, attending school events, or simply stopping by to say hello, there are countless ways to build relationships and strengthen our community. Together, we can create a welcoming and supportive environment where every scholar feels encouraged and empowered to thrive. Our connections are at the core of our community!
I look forward to connecting with all of you on Thursday, August 28th at our SMS Back to School Bash! This event will be from 4:00-7:00 at Showalter Middle School. Come meet myself and the staff; play games; enjoy food; win prizes; and grab some school supplies and books!
